Getting Blue Pen Ink Off Of Leather Jewelry Box?

A while ago someone gave me a necklace in a little leather jewelers box. I put the necklace on and tossed the box into the purse….into the same pocket as an uncapped blue pen.
Now I’d like to use the box to hold a different necklace that I’m giving as a gift, but its got blue pen on it. I googled “remove pen from white leather” and found rubbing alcohol, or hairspray, neither of which I have. I’m mailing this gift and it needs to go today.
Any suggestions?

Grab some leather cleaner. The alcohol will more than likely damage the leather, but it will take the ink up. Do you have any white shoe polish?
How about just coloring the whole box with the blue pen?

Try white vinegar. It shouldn’t harm the leather. Or you can try hand sanitizer if you have it. It contains alcohol.

saturate a soft white cloth with hair spray and rub the cloth over the ink. It should take it off
